Mushroom grow kit oyster mushrooms
This set contains a bucket, bag of spawn and (video) instructions.
Did you know that mushrooms grow well on coffee grounds?
That's why we developed the Rotterzwam Grow Kit, so you can turn your own coffee grounds into mushrooms—oyster mushrooms, to be precise. Right on your own kitchen counter. Will you become a #kitchencounterfarmer too?
We've created a special mailing especially for the #kitchen-sink farmer. A series of seven emails packed with video instructions and tips for the growing process.
The grow kit is emphatically not a disposable product. It is carefully assembled in Rotterdam by people distanced from the labor market. It is made from leftover plastic buckets that would otherwise be destroyed and has a recycled cardboard wrapper.
You can choose between a Dutch or English version.

How does it work?
With the grow kit you can grow edible mushrooms on fresh coffee grounds.
The grow kit is designed to inoculate a small amount of fresh coffee grounds with the bag of spawn in the bucket. You let the fungus grow for a few days, and then you can occasionally add fresh coffee grounds until the bucket is completely full.
Be careful to give the mold time to continue growing through the coffee grounds.
Mold likes a moist environment, so make sure the coffee grounds are wet enough.
The grow kit includes instructions with the steps you need to take. We recommend subscribing to our email , which will periodically notify you of the steps to be taken.

Repeating the cycle
After harvesting the first oyster mushrooms, you'll notice that the coffee grounds in the grow kit have shrunk. You can then add some new grounds for a second harvest. Or you can make a fresh start!
Empty 80% of the grow kit and stir the remaining material loose and moisten it by adding a little fresh, wet coffee grounds. Give the mold some time to grow through the coffee grounds again, and then you can add more grounds occasionally. This restarts the cycle. You can repeat this process. After a few cycles, the mold may weaken somewhat. We recommend buying a new bag of spawn and completely emptying the grow kit for a fresh start.
