In 2024, we collected slightly less coffee grounds than in previous years. We paid less attention to finding more partners to collect coffee grounds, as we are not yet able to utilize the high-quality coffee grounds ourselves.
Because we have scaled up our production process, the chance of a small infection causing a larger batch to fail has increased.
For the time being, we will continue to purchase external straw substrate in addition to the coffee grounds, so that we can always supply mushrooms.
This year we have focused primarily on developing a workable new method for using coffee grounds for mushroom cultivation on a larger scale.
Own generation of electricity.
Our solar panels haven't quite been able to generate enough electricity to cover our own needs. We also have to charge our vans outside occasionally.
Ultimately, we managed to save almost 65 tons of coffee grounds from incineration.
Our footprint in 2024 will ultimately amount to a negative footprint of
- 27,540 kg CO2eq.
A result that we are once again proud of.
