When you ask the Rotterzwam team what their favorite mushroom dish is, they'll all say in unison: shawarma! This easy dish is quick to make, and the meaty texture of oyster mushrooms makes it a great vegetarian alternative.

Ingredients
For the citizens 300 g oyster mushrooms 1.5 tbsp shawarma spices 0.5 bell pepper 1 onion 1 red onion 1 clove of garlic 4 pita breads salad tomato olive oil salt and pepper
Garlic sauce 5-6 tbsp yogurt flat-leaf parsley 2 cloves of garlic salt and pepper

Preparation method
- Tear the oyster mushrooms into strips and mix them with 2 tablespoons of shawarma seasoning. Let this marinate for half an hour.
- Meanwhile, finely chop the onion and garlic and cut the pepper into strips.
- Heat some olive oil in a pan and sauté the onion and garlic until translucent. Then add the bell pepper and oyster mushrooms. Season with salt and pepper.
- Heat the pita breads according to the instructions on the package.
- Cut the red onion into thin rings.
- Cut open the rolls and top them with lettuce, red onion, tomato and oyster mushrooms.
Garlic sauce
- Chop the parsley finely
- Mix the yoghurt with the two pressed cloves of garlic and parsley.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste if necessary.
