On Friday, May 24, 2019, Alderman Bonte, responsible for sustainability, officially opened the new rotterzwam farm. He did so by cutting a ribbon and then harvesting the first mushrooms.
The new rotterzwam mushroom farm is unique. This is because it is the largest mushroom farm in Europe, growing mushrooms on homemade substrate made from local coffee grounds, and will also be energy-neutral and carbon-negative.
Under the watchful eye of family, friends and business partners, the growing units were then shown and delicious products made from oyster mushrooms were enjoyed. Oyster mushroom beer , oyster mushroom croquettes and croquettes, marinated oyster mushroom feet and much more.
In the coming weeks, the nursery will start operating and mushroom production will begin. We will also soon be hosting a series of open days where visitors can visit and tour the nursery. Stay tuned to our Facebook page for more information. and the LinkedIn company page in the holes.
We hope to see you soon in our new nursery.
