New this year was the presentation of the Marketing Award Rotterdam – Emerging Talent. This incentive award is intended for someone who is – more or less – at the beginning of their career and has made a special contribution to Rotterdam's image.
The jury admires how Mark Slegers and Siemen Cox further translated their ambitions to "organize their lives more sustainably, implement sustainability, and inspire others" into BlueCity010 in 2015. "BlueCity010 is a vibrant example, for the Netherlands and the world, of reuse, entrepreneurship, sustainability, and economic activity.
Both gentlemen are known far beyond the city limits and promote their ideas beyond Rotterdam. In their story, Rotterdam is the place where it all happens, and in doing so, they contribute to its image.
The awards ceremony took place on Tuesday evening, January 5, 2016, during the New Year's reception in Rotterdam, organized by Rotterdam Partners in collaboration with the municipality of Rotterdam, Rotterdam Festivals, and Rotterdam Topsport.
