We've never been as transparent as we have been this past year. We spent much of 2021 working hard on our B Corp certification. B Corp isn't a very well-known certification, and we'd like to tell you a little more about that.

The process
B Lab is a non-profit organization serving a global movement of people who use entrepreneurship as a force for good. The certified organizations aim to bring about several shifts in our economic system.

B Lab is the certification body. B Lab is a non-profit network that aims to transform the global economy for the benefit of all people, communities, and the planet. Building on B Lab's standards and certification process, its network of member organizations drives changes in economic systems to support a collective vision of an inclusive, just, and regenerative economy.

Holistic
B Corp certification is holistic and not focused solely on a single social or environmental issue. The process for achieving and maintaining certification is rigorous and requires the involvement of teams and departments throughout the company. Depending on the company's size and profile, verification includes documentation of the business model and information about its activities, structure, and various work processes. It also includes an assessment of potential public complaints. The recertification process confirms continued compliance with these standards.

Network
With this certification, rotterzwam joins a growing group of companies committed to a better world. With 105 points, we have easily surpassed the 80-point mark on our B Impact Assessment . This assessment is the most credible tool a company can use to measure its impact on employee, community, environmental, and customer care. Approximately 4,400 companies worldwide are B Corp certified. In the Benelux region, just over 160 companies are.
